Song O’ Sky Chorus is a chapter of Sweet Adelines, International, a non-profit organization of approximately 22,000 members in choruses and quartets worldwide. Our Region is known as Heart of the Blue Ridge Region 14 and is comprised of more than 20 choruses and over 30 quartets in parts of 5 states: Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia, N. Carolina, S. Carolina
Mission Statement Song O'Sky is a sisterhood of singers who perform four part barbershop harmony. We provide quality musical education and performance opportunities that encourage personal growth of our members.
Performance Song O’ Sky loves to get out and perform. We love to sing for shows, community events, private functions, singing Valentines, and Christmas caroling. We are available to sing at your next function. If you're looking for a unique musical experience to liven up your event, please check out our Book Us section.
Education Vocal instruction is a regular part of chorus rehearsals and a very important component of the chorus experience. Our Music Team is there weekly to help each member become the best singer she can be. An exciting part of our year is when we get coaching from other chorus directors who are experts in the art of barbershop, where we hone our skills and improve our overall vocal performance.
Competition In the spring of every year, choruses will participate in the Region 14 chorus competition in North Carolina. Competitions are a special time for quartets and choruses from our Region to come together to sing for each other and receive constructive feedback from a panel of qualified judges. The winners of the Regional competition in both quartet and chorus categories are invited to travel to International Competition, which is held in the fall in a different city selected each year.
